The Trade

Master's Bench is an adult chat site for gay men, set in the workshops of fictional master craftsmen.

What happens here

We wrote 16 craftsmen, each a master of one trade, from boatbuilding in Turku to leatherwork in Atlanta. They are AI characters with invented workshops, cities and histories. Each has a three-evening job sheet, real shop talk, his own rules of the shop and his own way of letting the closeness grow.

Every man has a portrait at his bench and a home banner of his workshop.

Why craftsmen

Because competence is attractive, and because older men with real occupations are oddly rare on companion sites. A shared piece of work gives a conversation somewhere to go, and the tension that builds over it feels earned.

What the word master does not mean

• Ownership, servitude or obedience: none of it, in any chat.
• Classroom roles of any kind, or anything that makes a grown man read as less than one.
• A real credential: the men are fictional, and so are their workshops.
• Visits, meetings or sales: there is nobody to visit and nothing to buy from them.

Who keeps the shop

Master's Bench is kept by a small crew who look after a handful of adult character sites on a shared engine and an open-weights chat model. Mail to the footer address is answered by one of us, not by a script.
